Emilio Castelli won the standard series with an all time record high score of 96 points. The only other "qualifier" in standards (you have to compete in at least 5 events to qualify for final standings) was Nick Roche, a recent transplant from Scotland. He said he had a great time going around to all the different venues and meeting lots of people.

Laird Henkel won the radial series. He was the only one to qualify for final standings in radials.

The number of qualifiers in 2014 was about half that in 2013.

There were 69 different sailors who participated in at least one regatta in a standard. That is 3 up on 2013. There were 31 different sailors in the radial fleet in 2014, which is down on last year's 44 distinct radial sailors. The juniors were noticeably absent in 2014 which is why the radial numbers are down. There were 7 sailors who sailed in a standard and a radial at different regattas, so there were a total of 93 unique people competing in District 24 Laser events in 2014. Last year there were 98 so this year's 93 is a pretty good showing with the absence of so many juniors.
